Hand-Crafted, Fishing Trawl Floats

Duraglas, Clear Glass Float Series,

(The markings on the glass are tracible to the glass makers and trademark registration year 1941. Registration # 0390467.  Raised trademark "Duraglas" on side of floats & bottom glass markings as well.)

Trawl float # -Dura  (clear glass) is a series of floats, used in the Bay of Fundy, off Yarmouth, Nova Scotia (circa 1941 - 1950).  Vintage tarred marline (pre-1920's) was acquired from Lunenburg to use for the knotwork, hand-crafted by Moncton artist, Sharon Bourque, in 2021.  Detailed information tag included with float.  Tag is numbered and signed for this series.

Trawl float #: 01-Dura (clear glass), is crafted in knotwork netting made of vintage tarred marline (pre 1920's), acquired from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, from a fishing family who passed the stock of line down between their generations, till it was sold and now used to craft these collectible trawl floats. Yellow-blue information tag included.


Price $125 (CA$).
