Non-vintage, decorative, glass, fishing floats, are hand-crafted with knotwork by Sharon Bourque, In Moncton, New Brunswick.


These glass balls come in a variety of colours not typically found in vintage glass floats.  What's your favourite colour?  Sizes may also range between xmas bulb sized up to jumbo sized (..as available). 


Floats may be available for viewing and purchase at local retail shops and market locations.  Check the information posted for each float.

Yellow #01-Lun.

This yellow glass ball was acquired in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, in July 2021.  The ball has a nice golden hue, and a larger size to enjoy.

 

The line used for the netting knotwork, is vintage-antique, tarred marline, estimated to be pre-1920, and coming from a local fishing family out of Lunenburg. Knotwork for the netting was hand-crafted by Sharon Bourque, in Moncton, New Brunswick, July 2021. 

 

Float is currently available to purchase through our booth at "Maritime Crafts, Shirts & More", in Shediac, New Brunswick. (Vendor #93).

Blown glass, yellow glass float was acquired in Lunenburg in July 2021.  Netting was done in pre-1920's tarred marline, also from Lunenburg.

Yellow#03-Lun.  

("Button end")

This yellow glass ball was acquired in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, in July 2021.  The ball is not vintage, but has a nice golden, yellow-amber hue. This ball comes in a large 5" size, with tarred marline used for it's knotwork.

("Little Blueberry")

This blue glass ball was acquired in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, in July 2021.  The ball is not vintage, but has a nice blue hue. This ball comes in a small size, with tarred marline used for it's knotwork.

 

The line used for the netting knotwork, is vintage-antique, tarred marline, estimated to be pre-1920, and coming from a local fishing family out of Lunenburg. Knotwork for the netting was hand-crafted by Sharon Bourque, in Moncton, New Brunswick, July 2021.
